The Comic Artist Dream, It's Still Alive

I read manga as a child, just like almost every kid who grew up in Jakarta in the 90's. And to most of us the definition of 'comic artist' = mangaka. My childhood friends never debated about Marvel and DC. The hero was Fujiko F. Fujio, not Stan Lee. I remember the Tintin and Asterix craze but the Japanese invasion was way too enchanting.

Being a comic artist is one of my (many many) dreams. And of course I drew comics the Japanese way, until I discovered Roy Lichtenstein 5 years ago. The works may look simple, but one definitely needs time to get it right. It also triggered me to learn more about the American way of drawing comics, now they've gotten my respect - and interest, especially when it comes to perspective drawings!

Switching style, not easy. Eyes are still too big.
